Designing a website is a very personal thing. I have looked at some web designs that people have raved about and I wonder to myself, “Are these people for real?”. Web design can touch an emotional center or can leave you searching for alternatives. Here are a few tips to consider when looking at websites.

- This is a key element to consider. A news site for example is going to be much busier and cluttered than a website for a dentist office.
Direct mail is one of the most effective ways to reach out to a targeted audience. But so often the materials sent into consumer doors is subpar and doesn’t capture the right response. A top quality design and marketing slogan can often grab the reader’s attention and give you the opportunity to present your product or service.
Don’t settle for mediocre design. Make sure your content is to the point and visually appealing. Use colours that fit your company personality and product or service. Stay away from cliches or corny humour that turns people off. It helps to put yourself in the position of the reader and ask yourself what would make you want to buy a product or service.
Direct mail is not as expensive as people assume. For a small cost thousands of homes can be reached and the return on investment is often very high.
